I Thessalonians 5:12-13 The Shepherds and the Sheep (Part 2 of 2)

This text is an awkward text for a pastor to preach. Why? Just read it:

1 Thes. 5:12–13 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, & have charge over you in the Lord & give you instruction, 13 & that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.

Seems a bit self serving for a pastor to preach on this text… but it is not at all. Listen to find out why it’s not selfish but loving and kind for a pastor to preach on and encourage the principles contained in this neglected text of Scripture.

    Good preaching., Pastor Matt!!
    Since being saved September 1,2001
I have sat under “hard/truth” preaching. When I hear you preach I get that very thing. Their is no other preaching that I will listen to. “Men” of God who preach the Word of God I esteem very highly, because I know they will give an account to Father. I believe (if no one else does) that a Pastor should be called Pastor, you will never hear me call you by your earthly name unless Pastor is in front of it, thats how I show respect for the man of God.( correction maybe Brother as well) Keep preaching the truth Pastor, their is very few that does now a days.

Thanks so much for those kind words. I just try to preach exactly what the text is saying. Pray for me that I never compromise!
