Christmas doesn’t always seem holly jolly. People lose their jobs, houses burn down, there are car accidents, people get sick, and loved ones die. Why? What is magical about that? How are we supposed to get in the Christmas Spirit in the middle of this wretched brokenness? Sometimes, at out weakest points, it can feel like God is mean. But before we give into that thought let’s consider first that maybe, just maybe, we’re missing something. Listen as Pastor Matt grieves the passing of his Uncle Tom, and points to how Christmas can be even sweeter in times of suffering.

Your sermon touched my heart deeply. My husband is having heart surgery on Tuesday and I have really been struggling. I will be praying for you and your family. Merry Christmas Matt

Thank you for your prayers and for that encouragement. Prayers for you husband and family during this uncertain time. God is so good, and we who are in Christ are winners come what may! God bless you, and Merry Christmas to you as well.
