Mt 28:19-20 Go therefore & make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father & the Son & the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.
These verses contain only one command; Make disciples. Going, baptizing, & teaching are all participles which indicate that they are the means by which we are to accomplish the one imperative. Most people can clearly understand how we must ‘go’ in order to make disciples, and most understand that we have to teach to make disciples. But what is the relationship between baptism & discipleship? How does dunking someone under the water aid in discipleship? Listen as Pastor Matt explains 1) Baptism at the time of Christ 2) Christ’s Baptism by John the Baptist and 3) A forgotten element of a fully orbed understanding of baptism.
