Have you ever struggled understanding the relationship between prayer and God’s Sovereignty? You are not alone, but there are answers. Listen as Pastor Matt examines the book of Philippians to get the ‘big picture.’ Paul trusted God to preserve the Philippians in the faith (1:6), but this confidence does not keep him from praying drives his prayers (1:9-11). Specifically, Paul prays against doctrinal threats from within the church, against apostasy caused by persecution and hardships, and against the possibility of a church that is not marked by the fruit of the Spirit. But Paul’s confidence in the power of prayer does not keep him from working but drives his work. See how the rest of the book of Philippians is Paul encouraging, reasoning, and admonishing the Philippians to be the means by which his prayers are answered.
