In Philippians 1:23 Paul says that departing to be with Christ is ‘very much better’ or ‘better beyond all expression’ when compared to continuing in the flesh. If that is true then why does it seem that Paul is torn concerning whether he would choose life or death if the choice was his? Listen as Pastor Matt unravels the truth of Philippians 1:24-26 to show how Paul saw the Philippians great need, surrendered to the Sovereignty of God, and savored the progress and joy of faith in his Philippian brothers and sisters. Our desires must not terminate on what gives us the most immediate gratification; love of God and others should always come first.
