Jesus asks the disciples if they understand the things He taught them in the Parabolic Discourse, and they say they do. Jesus then gives a one last parable that is unlike the others. All the other parables are ‘Kingdom Parables’ which explain what the Kingdom of heaven is like, but this one explains what a ‘scribe’ who becomes a disciple of the Kingdom should be like. Who are these ‘scribes’ who become disciples of the Kingdom? What is Jesus getting at by saying such ‘scribes’ are like heads of households who bring forth from their treasure things new and old? And what is the believers duty in light of this parable? Listen as Pastor Matt answers these questions and charges the church to pass on that with which they have been entrusted.
