Throughout the book of Proverbs we see two distinct pulls working on men; the enticement of the wicked, and the voice of wisdom. Born in sin, all men need to be corrected and trained into wisdom. Those who will not heed the voice of wisdom are proven fools and await the promised destruction. Those who will listen to correction, reproof, and when needed discipline, are transformed from folly to wisdom.
God will not leave His children in their sin and folly. He will use whatever correction or discipline is necessary to bring them to repentance and wisdom. If we understand this, we will learn to embrace anything that will free us from folly and make us wise.
