Philippians 1:29 Granted with a Willingness to Suffer

December 16, 2018 By Matthew Cooke Leave a Comment

Phil. 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.

Granted to suffer?!?! Indeed. Our willingness to suffer for Christ is a gift from God, & is an assurance that we are really saved. A lost person would never be wiling to suffer for the cause of Christ. That would be foolishness to him. He would never take up his cross & follow Christ. He would never count all things as loss that he might gain Christ. Are you willing to suffer for the sake of Christ? Rejoice! Such is the evidence of being born again.
