God led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted to show that Christ, not Adam, and not Israel, was the True & Greater Son of God. Satan was tempting Jesus attempting to show that Jesus was just like every so called Son of God before Him. Adam failed when tempted. Israel failed when tempted. Christ had to be tested to prove He was faithful & therefore Worthy to be the Savior for Adam, Israel, and the whole world.
