Prioritize Scripture!

In order that true religion may shine upon us, we ought to hold that it must take its beginning from heavenly doctrine & that no one can get even the slightest taste of right & sound doctrine unless he be a pupil of Scripture. Calvin, J. The Institutes of the Christian Religion

Emphasize Grace!

Grace, grace, God’s grace! Grace (Charis) appears in its root form a full 156 times in the 27 NT books & different forms of the word grace appear 208. What is grace? Let me shock you; Grace is not unmerited favor. It is favor that was merited by one other than yourself. Grace was purchased for us before it was given to us. Jesus purchased grace for you & distributes it as the Father wills. It was purchase by a perfectly obedient life & willing sacrificial death of Jesus. Col. 2:13–14 When you were dead in your transgressions & the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; & He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
