Sometimes systematic exegetical preaching requires a topical sermon. Sometimes, as in the case of this sermon, you come across a topic as you work through a book of the Bible that demands that you set some time aside from your normal course to help everyone understand a specific issue that will greatly effect their ability to understand the flow of the book. Right in the middle of our study of Jesus as even greater than the angels, brother Matt takes some time to help us build a solid biblical understanding of angels.
We will need this solid understanding if we want to understand the context in which the book of Hebrews was written, and to understand why it was so important that the original audience had to be convinced that Jesus was greater than the angels. This sermon will raise your view of angels, not as an end in itself, but so that you will better be able to see how high and lofty Christ is; greater still than even the angels.
