The disciples expected that Jesus would ride triumphantly into Jerusalem and that they would be at the right and left hand of the conquering King. When He rode in on a donkey, as prophecy said the king would do, they thought it was happening. When He was instead crucified, they were scattered. When He rose again, they believed in Him, they knew who He was and worshiped Him, yet they were uncertain as to what that meant. They still expected a Jerusalem kind of ministry, yet Jesus told them to meet Him in Galilee. We may have expected, and wanted, a Jerusalem ministry, but Jesus has called us to Galilee.
