Three things make a Church; 1) The right preaching of the Gospel, 2) The Right Administering of the Sacraments, and 3) The right utilization of Church Discipline. By God’s grace, we have had the Gospel powerfully and accurately proclaimed by many godly men, however we have yet to take communion. Knowing that this is one of the ordinances of the Church, why has Maynardville Fellowship not partaken of the table in it’s brief 8 month existence? Good question. See why we have yet to partake, and what we are doing to ready ourselves for this joyous means of Grace. Communion is serious business.
Praise God for your obedience, boldness and proclaiming the Truth of Jesus Christ Our Lord. This is very helpful because although our boys have made a credible public confession of faith last February but we haven’t allowed them to go to The Lord’s Supper until we have peace from God and also that the boys do not unknowingly made a mockery of His Table. But we are praying and waiting for God’s time. Thank you, brother Matthew for your desire not to please men but to speak truth. Truly blessed to have internet so we can also be challenged and encouraged through the message at Maynardville weekly. God bless you and the brethren at Maynardville. In His Grace,
Sue & Jim
We are so thankful that you took the time to bless our body with this encouraging comment. We maintain this website in hope that through it our ministry touches people who we would have no Kingdom impact on otherwise. May God grant you wisdom in the shepherding of your children, and I pray that the ‘Theology of Bread’ series is helpful for you in evaluating the condition of their souls. Grace and Peace.
