Jesus stood against the lust of the flesh in temptation 1. Now in temptation 2 we see Satan test the ‘pride of life. Satan’s reasoning went something like this, ‘You believe you that your Father could keep you alive even if you never ate again? Ok, prove your faith in the Father. I am not going to sit here and watch you starve yourself. That’ll take too long. Prove your Father’s protection over you right now? Display it for me & for all to see; throw yourself off the pinnacle of the temple and then we will believe you.’ Listen to see how Jesus again shows Himself faithful where Israel had failed.
